About Wonder Rails
Wonder Rails is a cosy 3D model-railway exhibition that you play in your web browser. Little trains run on their own timetable through five small worlds — you can simply watch, look around, ride along, or take the controls yourself.
It’s made for families and for anyone who loves trains: something calm to share with a child on the sofa, or to leave running on a quiet evening. It works on computers, tablets and phones, in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari — and on iPhone and iPad, there’s also an app.
Five worlds to visit
Each world is its own layout, with its own trains, scenery, lighting and sounds — and one special moment to look out for.
-
Conservatory Express
FreeTrains · Plants · Big Imagination
A railway of bark, twigs and seed pods beneath a grand glass conservatory, where two routes run over and under each other — a steam express round the Grand Station below, and a commuter train high on its elevated line and suspension bridge.
-
Starlight Summit
CollectionLittle trains. Great heights.
Wave to Santa at his rest stop, launch his sleigh and ride along, or make a wish on an evening shooting star.
-
Seabreeze Harbor
CollectionLittle trains. Open horizons.
Breakwater Bridge lifts to let the fishing boat Little Mariner through, while the freight train waits patiently at the signal.
-
Sunstone Canyon
CollectionLittle trains. Wild frontiers.
At the Roundhouse Yard, the turntable turns the little tank engine right around and puts it back in its shed, facing the other way.
-
Moonberry Fair
CollectionLittle trains. Big smiles.
Switch on the fair lights and watch the whole fair glow into evening, ride the Ferris wheel for the view from the top, or set the carousel turning.
How it works
- Conservatory Express is free to play, for as long as you like.
- The Original Collection is a one-time purchase ($9.99 + applicable tax) that opens the other four worlds — Starlight Summit, Seabreeze Harbor, Sunstone Canyon and Moonberry Fair.
- No ads, no subscription and no in-game currency. Nothing to top up, and nothing nudging little ones to spend.
- Junior Conductor swaps the controls for four big buttons — Go, Stop, Whistle and Ride — for small hands. It has no links out of the game and no way into the parent area.
- A parents’ area in Settings is where buying, signing in and restoring a purchase live. It opens only after a question for grown-ups.
